Participation of Belarus' delegation in Eurasian Women's Forum described as successful

Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova held a meeting to review the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum in St. Petersburg on 26 September, BelTA has learned.

"The number of participating countries and the matters discussed show that the forum was quite successful. It is important for us to summarize the matters and agreements discussed during the forum," Natalya Kochanova said.
 

The speaker stated that the Belarusian delegation had a packed agenda in St Petersburg. "We worked in the sections, took part in various events and, certainly, held a lot of meetings, which should be summarized. We need to draw up a plan to continue our work. No initiative should be overlooked. This is very important," she emphasized. "Some agreements have a place in education, healthcare, social sphere, and light industry. We need to take stock of the work done, send invitations if necessary, and start working on preparing the official visits. Let’s draw up a plan of action and get down to work.”

The fourth Eurasian Women's Forum was held in St. Petersburg on 18-20 September. Representatives from 126 countries took part in the large-scale event. Natalya Kochanova spoke at the plenary session of the forum. In her report, the speaker highlighted the Belarusian achievements, the peace-loving nature of the country's policy, the special role of women in the new world, and the importance of preserving family and traditional values. She called for the unification of all efforts to preserve humanity.

Natalya Kochanova held a number of bilateral meetings with Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, Vice President of Uganda Jessica Alupo, Director General of the Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina, and others. The members of the Belarusian delegation also took part in strategic sessions and dialogue platforms of the forum.

The Eurasian Women's Forum is an influential international dialogue platform for women-leaders from all continents. The forum develops joint solutions on topical issues of international cooperation, sustainable economic development, new technologies, healthy lifestyles and environmental safety, and social charity projects. The forum participants include women parliamentarians, entrepreneurs, representatives of executive authorities, international organizations, business circles, scientific community, public organizations and charitable projects, international women's movement from many countries of the world. The forum is organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
