▪️At the beginning of 2025, 4.9 million women lived in Belarus—53.9% of the country's population.
▪️Almost 80% of women live in cities (79.6% of urban women).

The highest concentration of women is traditionally in the capital, where 22.2% of the total number of women live. The lowest proportion is in the Mogilev (10.6%) and Grodno (10.8%) regions.
Family and Marital Relations
▪️Belarusian women marry for the first time, on average, at 26.7 years of age.
Almost every fourth woman married between the ages of 20 and 24. Remarriage occurs, on average, at 40.5 years of age.
▪️Interestingly, in 2025, the number of women aged 65 and over who married increased by 80 compared to 2024, reaching 713.



Education and Employment
▪️Belarusian women demonstrate a high level of education. 56.9% have higher or secondary vocational education.
▪️The national average female employment rate is 64.7%.
85.6% of women of working age are employed, and 22% after that.
▪️The average age of employed women is 42.5 years. Traditionally, the share of women in the social sector is high.
▪️Statistics highlight the significant role of women in management: every second manager is a woman, of whom 44.2% have minor children.
▪️Among all employed people with additional jobs, 65.9% are women. Time Use and Household Responsibilities

▪️Women spend 1.7 times more time on housekeeping and caring for family members than men (in 2015, it was 2 times more).
