Minsk, Saransk plan to launch direct air service

We are planning to launch a direct flight between Minsk and Saransk, Head of Russia's Republic of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov told the media following a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 19 October, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of the Russian region, the possibility of organizing direct air service between Belarus and the Republic of Mordovia was discussed during the meeting. "Saransk airport will become international soon. One of the first flights should fly here [to Minsk]," Artyom Zdunov said. According to him, there is a demand for direct air service among business. It will also help promote cultural, humanitarian ties, and tourism.
