Lukashenko congratulates Pope Leo XIV on enthronement day

On behalf of the Belarusian nation and himself personally Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Pope Leo XIV on the enthronement day, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The message reads: “Getting elected to this post in this complicated period of global contradictions is acquiring special significance today. Your appeal to the international community is fully compliant with the stance of Belarus, which has always spoken in favor of peace and accord between nations. Common goals can be achieved only through common efforts.”

The head of state expressed confidence that Pope Leo XIV’s high mission as the leader of the Catholic church will contribute to the deepening of the interfaith dialogue and to the preservation of Christian values.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished good health, prosperity, and God’s grace in all endeavors to the Pope.
