Lukashenko announced the creation of a Museum of the History of World Religions in Minsk

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, visiting the church in Tolochyna on Easter day, spoke about plans to create centers of attraction for all faiths in the country, and a Museum of the History of world religions in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The Head of State noted that this year each of the major faiths present in Belarus should start creating their own centers of attraction. For example, the Zhirovichi Monastery, the pearl of Belarusian Orthodoxy, as Alexander Lukashenko said about it, will become such a center for Orthodoxy. And for Catholics, one of the most significant centers is the Budslavsky Church, where the most important shrine is located - the Budslav Icon of the Mother of God.

"We have agreed in the country that this year we will begin the process of establishing centers of major religions in Belarus. Our largest denomination is Orthodoxy, which accounts for more than 85% of the population. - Approx. BELTA), who identify themselves as Orthodox Christians. The second most important thing is the Catholics, with whom we celebrate this holiday today," the President said. "Each denomination should start creating its own centers this year."

Alexander Lukashenko also spoke about plans to create a Museum of the History of World Religions in Minsk. "We will also create a Museum of the History of World Religions in Minsk so that our youth know what religion is and where the roots of these religions come from - Christians, Orthodox, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, and so on. Anyone can come to this center and see where we all come from, where our spirituality comes from," the head of state noted.

The President also mentioned several other important facilities - the so-called Belarusian VDNH, where national achievements in various fields will be presented, and the National Historical Museum dedicated to the history of the Belarusian statehood.

"Finally, by May 9, this center (the Minsk International Exhibition Center) will be open to all our Belarusians, so that they, especially young people, will admire and ask each other when they come there.: "Can we really produce all this? Did we really do this with our own hands?" - said the President.
