Kuzmin: BelNPP meets all modern standards

The Belarusian nuclear power plant is safe and meets all modern standards, Andrei Kuzmin, Director General of the Joint Institute for Power and Nuclear Research Sosny of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, said on the air of the STV TV channel, BelTA informs.

It was noted that the institute provides scientific support to the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The biggest emphasis is on safety.

A simulator to practice emergency response was demonstrated to the TV audience. All emergencies will be handled.

“The Belarusian NPP has successfully passed stress tests. This includes an in-depth evaluation and reassessment of the project safety taking into consideration the Fukushima accident. This work was done jointly with Russian specialists. The findings were published, public discussions and hearings were held, and it was possible to prove that our project is safe and meets all the most modern requirements,” Andrei Kuzmin emphasized.
