More than 4,000 highly qualified employees and over 20 scientific and industrial organizations work in Belarus' space industry, Chief Academic Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vasily Gursky said at a press conference timed to World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day, BelTA has learned.

“We can say that our space program is the result of Belarus-Russia fruitful cooperation and friendship between our peoples. Today we can also say with confidence that this cooperation and our numerous programs helped build a full-fledged space industry in Belarus,” said Vasily Gursky.
 
The representative of the National Academy of Sciences emphasized that more than 20 scientific organizations and industrial companies help promote the country's space industry; more than 4,000 highly qualified employees work in this field.

“This industry was created thanks to the support and upon the initiative of the president of our country. The National Academy of Sciences acts as a curator and regulator of all space activities,” emphasized Vasily Gursky.
