Brest to host autumn festival on 3 October

Residents and visitors are invited to the venue near the Equator shopping mall at 16 Gavrilova Street. The autumn festival will get underway at 10:00. Visitors will be able to shop, enjoy food outdoors, and spend a fun and interesting day with the whole family.

One of the main attractions will be an interactive zone and a huge food court offering a wide variety of dishes, most of them featuring vegetables. Visitors will be able to try pumpkin porridge, vegetable soup, and apple drink. Chefs will prepare pancakes with various fillings, soups, grilled vegetables, potato pancakes (draniki), potatoes baked in foil, and much more. The organizers planned a short clinic on making draniki.

More than 60 vendors and activity points will be set up at the venue. Farmsteads will welcome visitors, while forestry enterprises will showcase their eco-friendly goods. Specialists will give lectures on the benefits of vegetables and the secrets of growing them. Visitors will also be able to take photos in themed photo zones, play bowling and chess on straw-covered platforms. Giant scales will be brought over from the embankment for the festival, allowing visitors to find out their weight in creative units.

A large-scale fair with a wide range of goods will unfold during the festival. Around 180 retail outlets will offer shoppers potatoes, vegetables, fruits, berries, seedlings, and other products.

The highlight of the festival is a competition with 10 categories, where garden giants will go on display and records will be broken. The program also has room for creativity and humor. The organizers have received 50 entries. At the exhibition, participants will present the results of their work, which a jury will evaluate. At the competition, for example, visitors will be able to see a watermelon pyramid 5 meters tall and 4 meters in diameter. The structure holds about 5 tonnes of watermelons. A giant pumpkin will also arrive at the fair.

The festival will run until the evening.
