Book about Belarus’ national parks among winners at Eurasian book fair

The Belarus publishing house has been awarded a first-degree diploma in the Culture and Art category for the book "National Parks – Gems of Belarus" at the Eurasian International Book Fair which was held in Astana on 17-21 April, BelTA learned from the publishing house.

Books by the Belarus publishing house traditionally win high awards at international book fairs, and this exhibition was no exception.

The book "National Parks – Gems of Belarus" describes the protected natural territories of Belarus, namely four national parks (Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Braslav Lakes, Narochansky, Pripyatsky), Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve and Polesie Radiation and Ecological Reserve. The book author is Igor Byshnev, Candidate of Biological Sciences, a well-known director of films about animals. The book also uses materials provided by state environmental and research institutions.

The book narrates the history of the national parks and reserves of Belarus and tells about their fauna and flora, many representatives of which are listed in the Red Book of Endangered Species of Belarus.
