Belarus welcomes first delegation to 2nd CIS Games

The freestyle wrestling team of the Republic of Tajikistan arrived in Belarus for the 2nd CIS Games. The team will train, compete and live in Minsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

The delegation was greeted at National Airport Minsk by the head of the sport and tourism department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Evgeny Buloychik and Chairman of the Belarusian Wrestling Federation Alim Selimov.

"This is the first delegation that came to the Republic of Belarus for the 2nd CIS Games. We are happy that Minsk Oblast is hosting it. We warmly welcomed the athletes, although the flight was delayed by an hour. The athletes will train and live in Soligorsk, in The Polesie Hotel," Evgeny Buloychik noted.

Evgeny Buloychik also noted that before the first competitions, which will be held in Soligorsk on 5 August, the wrestlers will have time for practice sessions. On 2 August, Minsk Oblast will welcome athletes from Turkmenistan.
