Belarus, Russia to issue stamp to celebrate Alexander Pushkin

Belarus and Russia will issue a joint postage stamp to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, BelTA learned from the Communications and Informatization Ministry of Belarus.

On 6 June, the Communications and Informatization Ministry releases a postage stamp "225 years since the birth of Alexander Pushkin". 

2024 marks the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet. In honor of this event, Belarus and Russia will issue joint postage stamps. The stamp and the coupon have illustrations to Eugene Onegin and the first-day-of-issue cover provides illustrations to Ruslan and Lyudmila and The Tale of Tsar Saltan.

The Minsk Post Office will hold a first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony. 

The stamp was designed by Viktor Chaichuk and Evgenia Bedonik.

Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) - Russian poet, playwright, prose writer, historian, literary critic and journalist. Founder of the modern literary Russian language.
