The International Arbitration Court at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) annually hears about a hundred cases. This was announced by the head of the Department of Legal Support and Digital Technologies of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vitaly Vabishevich at a press conference, the correspondent reports Soyuz.by .

Vitaly Vabishevich noted that arbitration is a special tool in dispute resolution. For comparison, the world arbitration centers in London and Paris handle up to a thousand cases per year, and the Russian ICAC at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry handles about 350 cases.

The Arbitration Court is authorized to consider three categories of cases: disputes between a Belarusian and a foreign resident, between two foreign residents and between two Belarusian companies. Intra-republican disputes are also in demand, with about 10 cases being considered per year.

An important feature of arbitration proceedings is the ability of the parties to independently determine the number of arbitrators and appoint them. In international disputes, arbitrators of different nationalities are often appointed, which ensures the neutrality and objectivity of the case. The parties may specify requirements for arbitrators in contracts, for example, on the absence of citizenship or residence of the countries of the parties to the dispute.

Arbitration is flexible, allowing disputes to be considered even in an online format. The parties themselves determine the procedure, the process, the language of the proceedings and other aspects.

According to Vitaly Vabischevich, trust in the decisions of arbitration institutions is higher than in the decisions of state courts, since arbitration is less influenced by state interests.

The main task of the arbitration institute is to make a decision that can be enforced in the future.
