Glazyev spoke at the panel session of the Second World Public Assembly in Moscow

The Second World Public Assembly “New World: values that unite” has completed its work in Moscow. More than 5,500 people from 154 countries took part in it. As part of the assembly, a high‑level panel session titled “Trust as the Foundation of New International Cooperation” was held; one of the speakers was Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State.

The participants in the dialogue platform discussed the reasons for the lack of trust and practical mechanisms for strengthening it. Among the topics: trust as an economic resource, the role of public diplomacy and direct ties between people, businesses, universities, and scientific communities.
According to Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State, the reason for the critical lack of trust in the world is the West’s use of deception as its main tool of geopolitics.
“The most monstrous deception in the economy is the dollar as a global currency,” Sergey Glazyev noted. “The dollar is worth nothing. It is a currency backed by the colossal American debt.” The US Secretary of State noted that this currency is now used as a tool of political pressure. Sergey Glazyev supported his speech with specific historical examples.
Following the discussion, the participants agreed on the need to build a sustainable infrastructure of trust between countries and people, recognizing that it is impossible to establish long‑term partnerships without mutual respect, equality, and responsibility. The panel session recognized the importance of further developing direct ties between public, business, scientific, and cultural circles, and also agreed on practical work within the framework of the Council for International Economic Activity.
