Belarus-Russia Union State MPs to discuss cooperation in aircraft manufacturing, import substitution

A session of the Industry and Trade Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will take place in Moscow on 24 February, the assembly’s press service told BelTA.

The MPs will pay most of their attention to overseeing the execution of Ordinance No.2 issued by the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on 29 January 2024 to stipulate the main guidelines on implementing provisions of the Union State Foundation Treaty in 2024-2026. The key topics will be the promotion of manufacturing cooperation in aircraft engineering as well as the implementation of R&D programs geared towards creating import-substituting products and manufacturing facilities.
The MPs will also receive information about the implementation of the Union State programs “Development of intelligent, high-tech digital and electronic components and systems for special-purpose and dual-purpose vehicles” (Intelavto) and “Development of basic elements of orbital and ground-based facilities for creating multi-satellite groups of small spacecraft for observing the Earth’s surface and near-Earth space” (Kompleks-SG). Apart from that, there are plans to discuss the implementation of the Union State’s standardization plan for children’s nutrition for 2025-2028.
Representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the Belarusian Industry Ministry, the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry, the healthcare ministries of both countries, the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry as well as state corporations and enterprises from various industries have been invited to participate in the session.
