Minsk is preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Wide avenues of the capital are being decorated with symbols of the holiday, and patriotic art objects will be installed near the Government House, where the liberators entered in 1944. One of the key events on the eve of Victory Day was the re-presentation of the sensational requiem concert ‘Every Third’ in the Palace of the Republic. By numerous requests of Minsk citizens, the hall was again full. The 80-minute performance tells about the tragic fate of millions of Belarusians, who became victims of genocide during the Great Patriotic War. According to the programme ‘Accents’ on ‘RTR-Belarus’, the policy of genocide was implemented by the fascists from the first days of occupation.

"Thanks to the public reaction, a lot of requests related to its prolongation started to come in," said Anna Lukashenko, the concert-requiem's general producer. "Our task was to tell as many people as possible this terrible truth."
The requiem concert was accompanied by war newsreel footage and photo documents testifying to the atrocities of the occupants. Search teams continue to establish new facts and find the remains of the victims, confirming the scale of the tragedy.
The closing song was the composition “Not to Defeat Slavic Immortality”, symbolising faith in the future and gratitude for peaceful sky.
The concert-requiem was seen by about 20,000 people. The unique project will be shown in Moscow on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace.
