Glazyev: the Union State has prospects for combining common competitive advantages

"The Union State has a common principle - equality of economic conditions," commented the Secretary of State. "This general principle is complemented by issues of supporting cooperation and increasing the connectivity of our economies. This is done not only by the organs of the Union State, but also directly by the government," Sergei Glazyev listed. The State Secretary of the Union State also recalled that a lot of work is underway today to expand cooperation and joint investment projects in various sectors of the economy.

"The Standing Committee of the Union State is engaged in scientific and technical programs, which are jointly determined by the two governments based on common development priorities. This practice has proven itself well, and it needs to be expanded," Sergey Glazyev stressed, adding that attention should also be paid to issues of regulatory harmonization. 

According to the Union State Secretary of State, both Russia and Belarus have examples of effective regulation and the exchange of experience in this area is interesting and important.

"The main directions of the implementation of the Treaty on the Union State provide for huge blocks of work between ministries and departments on the harmonization of regulatory regulation, on the search for common priorities and growth points. All this work has been carried out systematically for 25 years and is showing good results," the Secretary of the Union State noted.

He also said that during his visit to Belarus, he visited a number of Belarusian scientific institutes and industrial enterprises and saw firsthand what an amazing effect the combination of two regulatory systems has on a number of industries.

"It was nice to see that our scientific and technical programs were working, which allowed us to obtain new technology, create new production facilities, and expand our capabilities," Sergey Glazyev shared his impressions.

"We see that where regulation is more stimulating for the development of production of goods and services, there is explosive growth. Where barriers remain, there are unrealized opportunities. So, there is a lot of work, the regulatory framework is constantly evolving, we need to have time to harmonize and look for ways to combine competitive advantages in order to get the overall effect," summed up Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State.
