From September 5 to 8, the Union State Youth Forum "The Role of Youth in Preserving and Protecting Historical Memory" is being held in Mogilev. The large-scale union event is being held to strengthen friendship between the youth of Belarus and Russia. The main objectives are: fostering patriotism, preserving common historical memory and discussing issues of implementing joint youth policy.
The key idea of the Forum is to build a dialogue with active youth to develop coordinated approaches to patriotic education, harmonizing legislation and developing a Strategy for the Development of Youth Policy of the Union State.
"Today, it is very important that it is the youth movement that is aimed at developing good-neighborly relations between our countries, remains faithful to common traditions, and increases the great historical memory," says the welcoming speech of the State Secretary of the Union State Sergei Glazyev to the participants and guests of the Union State Forum "The Role of Youth in Preserving and Protecting Historical Memory".
The welcoming address was announced by the Head of the Department of Social Policy and Information Support of the Standing Committee of the Union State, Olga Boronenko, reports a Soyuz.by correspondent.

The State Secretary of the Union State emphasized that, based on the rich experience of Belarusian-Russian cooperation, it is important not to stop there, to intensify and expand the direction of further work, effectively using the potential of civil society.
"The representative composition of the forum participants confirms the relevance and prospects of such a format of interaction. I am confident that during the intellectual discussion new joint projects and initiatives will be outlined that can become the basis for future great achievements," Sergei Glazyev emphasized in his address and wished the delegates success and fruitful work.
Head of the Department of Social Policy and Information Support of the Standing Committee of the Union State Olga Boronenko congratulated the representatives of the Belarusian and Russian youth delegations on the start of the Forum and spoke about the most significant programs, projects and events of the Union State.
