On September 7, 2025, the plenary session of the Youth Forum of the Union State "The Role of Youth in preserving and protecting historical Memory" is taking place in Mogilev. The event is attended by Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia Vyacheslav Volodin, First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia Igor Sergeenko, as well as members of the Youth Chamber at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, youth chambers at the parliaments of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, young historians, representatives of youth organizations and the scientific community of the two countries. Secretary of the Union State Sergei Glazyev, speaking at the plenary session, outlined the key tasks of youth policy, emphasizing the importance of preserving historical memory and creating conditions for the self-realization of youth.
Glazyev noted that the Union State pays great attention to youth work, implements a roadmap of events and develops a strategy for youth policy, which is scheduled to be presented by December 1.
He identified three main problems that need to be addressed: low birth rate, outflow of graduates abroad, and high mortality from alcohol poisoning.
Glazyev highlighted that "Today we need to think about creating attractive jobs, creating career elevators for young people, and creating opportunities for self-realization for them".
Speaking about historical memory, the Secretary of State noted that it is necessary to continue working on the formation of a common textbook on history and ensuring objectivity in the textbooks of friendly states.
Glazyev also highlighted the willingness of young people to create and mobilize to protect the sovereignty of the Union State. The Secretary of State noted "Our task is to create the conditions for these labor steps, to bypass the opportunities that our young people continue, today defending the sovereignty of our world".
INFORMATION: The Youth Forum of the Union State is held in order to strengthen friendship between the youth of Belarus and Russia. Its main tasks are to foster patriotism, preserve common historical memory and discuss the implementation of a joint youth policy. The idea of the forum is to build a dialogue with active youth in order to develop coordinated approaches in patriotic education, harmonize legislation and develop a strategy for the development of youth policy in the Union State.
