Sergey Glazyev Speaks About the Criteria and Prospects for Implementing the "Goods of the Union State" Mark

A ceremony for presenting the "Goods of the Union State" mark was held in Minsk as part of the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.
State Secretary of the Union State Sergey Glazyev told journalists about the criteria for selecting product items for this category, as well as the prospective preferences for Belarusian and Russian manufacturers who hold the "Goods of the Union State" mark.

"The mark is awarded to advanced equipment produced within the Union State," commented the State Secretary of the Union State. "The criterion is that the goods are manufactured primarily using own technologies, materials, and components, and, of course, assembled within the Union State. At the same time, more than 50% of the cost must be created within the Union State, with at least 25% in each of the two countries," emphasized Sergey Glazyev.
He also added that the holders of the "Goods of the Union State" mark fully meet this criterion and have received the relevant evaluations from the chambers of commerce and industry and the ministries of industry.
The State Secretary of the Union State also spoke about prospective preferences for manufacturers of "Goods of the Union State," explaining that active work is currently underway on a mechanism for subsidizing interest rates to expand production. He added that there are plans to create special refinancing instruments for banks and development institutions that finance the production of these goods.
"Since they are created through cooperation within the Union State, the burden on the trade and payment balance is low," noted Sergey Glazyev. "In cases where the 'Goods of the Union State' consumes fewer imported components than we earn from exports of such goods, I believe that lending can be expanded indefinitely, existing production capacities can be increased and utilized in production, thus creating new opportunities for the development of our economy," concluded the State Secretary of the Union State.
BACKGROUND: The "Goods of the Union State" mark was awarded today to Belarusian equipment:
- The MAZ-305E20 passenger bus, manufactured by OJSC "Minsk Automobile Plant" – the managing company of the "BELAVTOMAZ" holding;
- The BELAZ-7513ED mining dump truck, manufactured by OJSC "BELAZ" – the managing company of the "BELAZ-HOLDING" holding.
