Belarusian's Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark) plans to launch mass production of tractors running on gas motor fuel in Yelabuga, Russia, BelTA has learned.

The joint project with Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo and RariTEK Holding Company will be implemented at the production facilities of TPK MTZ-Tatarstan.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia on 27 June. MTZ plans to produce 200 BELARUS 1221.3 gas-engine tractors at its subsidiary in 2023-2024. Mass production will be launched immediately after all necessary tests are run and a conformity certificate for the Minsk Motor Plant gas engine is obtained.

“It is important that modern agricultural machinery is available for farmers to enable them to save significantly on production costs and reduce the burden on the environment. We are glad that MTZ, in addition to RariTEK Holding Company, gets another reliable partner - Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo,” said MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk said.
