Rosatom has launched a pilot project for environmental monitoring of water in Belarus

Rosatom has initiated a pilot project for environmental monitoring of surface water in the Republic of Belarus. A trilateral agreement on the implementation of this project was signed at the Ecology Expo – 2025 exhibition in Minsk, according to the press service of the Rosatom State Corporation.

On the Russian side, it is carried out by Rosatom Environmental Integrator. The first software and hardware complex for monitoring water quality has been installed near the discharge of treated wastewater from the Vodokanal on the Dnieper River. It measures parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen content, temperature, turbidity, potential, and nitrate levels, continuously capturing data and transmitting it to an analytical platform via a wireless channel. The installation does not use chemical reagents during measurements, making it environmentally friendly.
Natalia Kudlaeva, Deputy General Director for Strategy at Rosatom Environmental Integrator, emphasized: "The creation of a network of such monitoring buoys with autonomous submersible water quality sensors will allow us to quickly detect exceeding of pollutants, identify their sources, and, most importantly, prevent serious environmental consequences."
