Belarus’ Hlova wins two medals at Russian track cycling championships

Belarusian cyclist Aliaksandr Hlova has become a two-time medalist at the Russian Track Cycling Championships in St Petersburg, Russia, BelTA has learned.

Aliaksandr Hlova finished third in the keirin final, behind Moscow’s Danila Burlakov and Nikita Bykovsky from Tula. On the final day of competition, he took silver in the 1,000-meter standing start time trial, losing half a second to Aleksandr Dubchenko from Tula Oblast.
Aliaksandr Hlova also placed tenth in the sprint event. In the women’s competition, Belarus’ Varvara Basiakova narrowly missed the podium in the keirin, finishing fourth, and placed sixth in the time trial.
