According to Olga Chemodanova, this year's Victory Parade will be significantly different from last year's, its program will be more diverse, including the artistic part, which is being prepared by the Culture Ministry. “The audience will see military equipment, people in military uniform, and people of art. The war period and modernity will come together in one large place,” she noted.
The city streets will come alive with festive atmosphere. “Nothing will stop us - neither bad weather nor anything else. It will be a true holiday; shopping facilities will be open throughout the city, and each city district will put up an entertainment program,” Olga Chemodanova said.
Traditionally, the main venues for the celebrations will be the Upper Town and the site near the Palace of Sports. The concert “80 Years of Victory” will begin at 12:00 near the Palace of Sports; songs by Belarusian pop singers and other artists will be performed there throughout the day. An immersive show Living History recreating the atmosphere of post-war Belarus will be running in the Upper Town.
A big concert program featuring honored artists of Belarus will start on Oktyabrskaya Square at 21:30.
The celebrations will be crowned with a fireworks show at 23:00. This will be a spectacular finale of the holiday. “I am sure that adults, children and the elderly alike will enjoy it,” said Olga Chemodanova.
She added that the schedule of the city transport will be readjusted to make it more convenient for people to get to the places where the main events will be held - the metro and ground transport will work until the end of the celebrations.
