Belarusian enterprises are planning to sign contracts with partners in Russia's Irkutsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

A representative delegation led by Governor of Brest Oblast Piotr Parkhomchik has arrived in Russia. The delegation includes officials, business representatives, and the heads of more than a dozen enterprises. A packed program has been arranged.

“Today is our first day on Irkutsk soil, and it is already bringing promising agreements. Above all, we see strong interest from our partners in the supply of fruits and vegetables from Belarus, specifically from Brest Oblast, produced by farms and agricultural enterprises. We are planning to sign two contracts: one to supply hematogen and dietary supplements from Drogichin-based Ekzon and another one - for products from Brest Meat Processing Plant,” Deputy Governor of Brest Oblast Mikhail Batsenko told BelTA.

The Belarusian delegation is set to tour local enterprises and participate in the Baikal International Partners Forum, a business matchmaking event for exporters and importers, and a trade and procurement session with retail chains. One of the central events will be the 11th meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Irkutsk Oblast. Piotr Parkhomchik is the point man in the Belarusian government for cooperation between Belarus and Irkutsk Oblast of Russia. The parties are expected to discuss the outcomes of cooperation in the first half of 2026 and outline projects for the near future. A plan of action on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, culture and humanitarian matters for 2026-2028 is expected to be signed.

The Brest Free Economic Zone and the Special Economic Zone of Irkutsk Oblast are set to sign an agreement on cooperation.

“Our relations are primarily based on the economy. In the first half of the year, January to June 2026, our trade increased 3.6 times,” Mikhail Batsenko emphasized. He added that the delegation includes representatives of Belarusian enterprises interested in developing cooperation with Irkutsk Oblast. “Our aircraft factories are also interested in expanding cooperation. The delegation includes representatives from processing industry enterprises, Svetopribor of BelTIZ, and our industrial flagships MAZ and MTZ. We must find new points of contact to expand cooperation and increase supplies from Belarus to Irkutsk Oblast,” Mikhail Batsenko stressed.
The Belarusian delegation’s visit will run through 27 August.
