As he met with reporters of foreign and Belarusian mass media, Aleksandr Lukashenko answered a question about his participation in a presidential election in 2025, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “I haven't even thought about the presidential election yet. Honestly. And I haven't made plans. Only contemplations like: how things will be after my time? Only in this manner.”

Speaking about the presidential election in Russia, which is due to take place in 2024, Aleksandr Lukashenko said he had not discussed it with Vladimir Putin. “And I am not even interested in it. Why should I bother him? When he makes the decision, he will tell me about it. He hasn't so far,” the president noted.

At the same time Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out that Vladimir Putin enjoys strong public support according to opinion polls.
