Brest FEZ, Development Corporation of Irkutsk Oblast sign cooperation agreement

The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Baikal International Partners Forum held in Irkutsk. “The agreement will primarily enable an increase in foreign trade between resident companies of the Brest Free Economic Zone and Irkutsk Oblast. Cooperative and joint investment projects will also be worked out. Four FEZ resident companies are participating in the forum, namely STiM Group of Companies, the battery company, AgroPishcheProm, and Sifania-Ecotekhnika. Each of them held B2B meetings and discussed points for growth in export and exchanged the best practices, particularly in relation to mechanical engineering,” said Vadim Kravchuk, head of the administration of the Brest Free Economic Zone.

Representatives of Belarus are working productively at the Baikal International Forum. “The Belarusian delegation has signed commercial documents totaling approximately $700,000. This concerns the supply of meat products to the regional market and hematogen bars produced by Drogichin-based Ekzon company. Work at the forum continues," added Ivan Krasovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee. The forum featured a plenary session, a presentation session for investment projects, and a business matchmaking event. Representatives of Belarus also had talks with potential partners from Mongolia and China.

Belarus’ delegation is headed by Piotr Parkhomchik, Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee. He is the point man in the Belarusian government for cooperation with Irkutsk Oblast. One of the central events on 25 August is the 11th meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Irkutsk Oblast.
The visit of the Belarusian delegation will last until 27 August.
