Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov is on a working visit to Russia’s Omsk Oblast on 19-20 October, BelTA reported.

The visit began with a meeting with Governor of Omsk Oblast Vitaly Khotsenko. The parties held a detailed discussion on the traditionally broad agenda of cooperation between the regions, including progress on previously reached agreements. “Particular attention was paid to prospects for developing multibrand centers for Belarusian machinery, purchases of passenger transport and arrangements for its maintenance, cooperation in the petrochemical sector, and the exchange of experience and technologies in agriculture. We agreed to expand cooperation in the creative industries (for example, our colleagues in Omsk plan to shoot a film about Siberian partisans at the National Film Studio Belarusfilm). We also agreed to explore opportunities for Belarusian construction companies to participate in building a new airport complex in Omsk,” the press service said.

The meeting also covered the schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels, and plans to give cooperation programs more concrete substance and develop promising projects. Igor Bolotov, the new Consul General of Belarus in Novosibirsk, whose consular district includes Omsk Oblast, was introduced at the meeting.

On 19 October, Yuri Seliverstov also visited two multibrand centers for Belarusian machinery, Omsk State Agrarian University, and Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center.
