Belarus’ PM: Union State is gaining momentum, aligns with nations’ demands

“Today we are summing up certain results and defining a strategy for the future through the prism of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Community of Russia and Belarus, which laid the foundation for the Union State. The main thing to note is that the Union State has come to fruition; having passed through stages of formation and hardening, it has proven its viability, resilience, and effectiveness. We are confidently moving along an upward trajectory of our integration, not just maintaining the pace, but gaining momentum, because this meets the demand of our peoples to enhance their spiritual and material wellbeing. Thanks to the presidents of Belarus and Russia, who are the drivers of these processes, we have made significant strides forward in many areas,” Aleksandr Turchin said.

He recalled that Russia is Belarus’ primary partner in economic and political terms. “I believe we can set modesty aside and state that our governments also work in harmony and for results. Russia in 2025 strengthened its status as a key partner for Belarus: approximately 60% of all attracted foreign direct investment comes from Russian investors. Belarus is also significantly increasing its investment into the Russian economy at an even faster pace,” the prime minister said.

According to him, Belarus-Russia foreign trade increased by 5.6% in 2025. “Trade in services is growing at an even higher rate. A considerable pace of convergence has been taken, a full-fledged legal framework for economic integration has been created. The crucial thing now is to avoid undoing our own progress or creating fresh obstacles,” Aleksandr Turchin said.
“The full agenda of today’s meeting reflects the interest of Belarus and Russia in deepening interaction and finding solutions to emerging issues, as well as in creating new growth points in the interests of our states and nations,” the prime minister added.
