Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin has arrived in Yekaterinburg on a working visit to attend the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM, the government’s press service told BelTA.

The visit began with a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The main topic of today’s discussions is the deepening of economic integration, alongside other matters of mutual interest.

Aleksandr Turchin noted that the agenda set by the presidents of Belarus and Russia is always intensive. The meeting on 5 July on the sidelines of the INNOPROM expo is a logical continuation of the recent meeting between the leaders of Belarus and Russia, which makes it necessary to adopt a number of decisions.

The agenda is extensive, leaving the meeting participants with plenty to discuss. “I am confident that the INNOPROM forum is a major milestone not only for the Russian Federation but also for Belarus, and for our EAEU countries,” the Belarusian prime minister emphasized. “Our new achievements and joint projects are all impressive, but we still have room to grow.”

Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that they had gathered the team primarily to discuss bilateral agenda items set by the leaders of the two countries, with industrial cooperation being a key focus among them.

“Belarusian products are impressive; our partners have offered a great deal of interesting, innovative solutions. Joint ventures with Russians will be showcased at the stands. We will examine the best examples of wheeled vehicles and various types of industrial products,” Mikhail Mishustin noted. “We will also discuss hydrocarbon supplies and cooperation across a whole range of matters in energy and finance, as well as, of course, in social welfare and culture. Tomorrow, we will hold official talks.”

Aleksandr Turchin also invited Mikhail Mishustin to the INNOPROM. Belarus forum, which will be held in Minsk from 30 September to 2 October.
