The exchange of best practices is at the heart of for efficient joint work between the Emergencies Ministries of Belarus and Russia, Belarusian Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky said, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.

As it was reported earlier, Noginsk in Moscow Oblast hosted a joint exercise of the Belarusian and Russian Emergencies Ministries. The event was timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Union State Treaty. Vadim Sinyavsky and his Russian counterpart Aleksandr Kurenkov assessed the readiness of forces and means to respond to possible emergency situations. State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev also took part in the event.

"The date of the Union State establishment is a milestone in the history of interaction between the emergencies agencies of Belarus and Russia. Our agencies have been developing in the same direction but gained their own unique experience. The exchange of this experience is at the heart of our effective joint work," Vadim Sinyavsky said.

Aleksandr Kurenkov emphasized that the Union State is not only a political and economic entity. "It is an union of nations who share common values and goals. In the times of geopolitical escalation, the risks of armed conflicts, terrorist attacks and man-made disasters are rapidly growing. Global climate change inevitably leads to large-scale natural disasters. On this background, effective and coordinated work of our emergencies agencies becomes especially important," he stated.
