Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves cover more than 3.2 months of imports of goods and services, BelTA learned from the macroeconomic review by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves grew by more than $1 billion in August 2026, reaching $15.24 billion by the beginning of September 2026.

“The main driver of growth was an increase in the value of gold in the reserve structure by $0.93 billion, driven by a rise in global prices, up 13.3% over the month. Reserve assets in foreign currency also continued to grow, increasing by $0.11 billion. The current level of reserves provides coverage of more than 3.2 months of imports of goods and services,” the EDB noted.
