“In 2026, we have recorded one of the highest levels ever of foreign direct investment from Russia. It has already exceeded $3 billion. The growth rate is quite high, at more than 20% compared with the same period in 2025,” he said. “Equally important, mutual investment from Belarus into Russia has also reached a historic high, with growth exceeding 30%.”
These figures demonstrate that strong industrial cooperation ties have developed between the two countries. “Both parties have a mutual interest in investing in the development of each other’s economies and reaping the benefits. Belarus and Russia are currently implementing a large number of integration projects. This is targeted, long-term work to develop industrial cooperation,” Ivan Vezhnovets said.
The countries have already completed a number of projects in 2026. “We have completed certain projects involving the production of timber harvesting equipment. Other projects are currently underway, with completion in the machine-building sector already standing at around 90%. These include projects involving BelAZ, Gomselmash, Saleo and the bearing plant,” he noted. “These projects will make it possible to build industrial supply chains between our machine-building enterprises and their counterparts in Russia.”
