On the instruction of the head of state, the leadership of the house paid visits to Azerbaijan, Myanmar, and Iran, where they discussed the prospects for the further development of economic and humanitarian ties, as well as the implementation of joint cooperation projects, with the leaders of these countries and their parliaments.

Visits to Belarus by parliamentary delegations from Algeria, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Türkiye helped boost engaged dialogue. The president of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino) and the president of the Arab Parliament also visited Belarus.

“During the upcoming session, the main focus should be on strengthening strategic alliance relations with the Russian Federation. Work will continue on the unification and harmonization of the two countries’ laws, parliamentary support for Union State programs, strengthening the international positioning of the Union State, and the civic and patriotic education of youth,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

According to him, bolstering the strategic partnership with China and the Global Majority nations is of paramount importance. “The world no longer revolves around the West. Now, our plans include active engagement with such influential bodies as the SCO and BRICS,” the speaker said.

The chairman of the House of Representatives stressed the need to make wider use of the outcomes of visits, established contacts, and cooperation experience with the AIPA, Parlatino, the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, and the Pan-African Parliament.
