Ambassador Yuri Seliverstov thanked participants for their efforts to increase exports to Russia in 2025. He praised the positive results achieved (104.6%) and the strong momentum in agricultural supplies. He also pointed out a decline in the performance of Belarusian industrial enterprises on the Russian market.
Taking into account the goals for the development of the Belarusian economy set by President Aleksandr Lukashenko and the government, the ambassador outlined the key tasks for expanding exports to Russia. First and foremost, this includes stepping up participation in Russian state-supported programs and national projects, developing joint production and industrial cooperation in high-tech sectors, implementing import substitution measures, and working with Russian partners to avoid creating duplicate (excessive) production capacities within the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Belarusian exporters need to establish systematic cooperation with Russian state corporations, create new and expand existing multibrand sales and service centers for Belarusian machinery across Russian regions. Other priorities include improving the efficiency of product distribution strategies (increasing direct supplies and reducing reliance on intermediaries) and further expanding interregional cooperation.
“During the meeting, participants discussed specific directions for implementing these tasks across regions, sectors, and enterprises, as well as current export indicators and projections for the first quarter of 2026. Special attention was paid to the effectiveness of efforts to reduce inventory levels and unload warehouses within the distribution networks of our enterprises in Russia,” the press service noted.
“The planned changes in Russian legislation were reviewed in detail, and participants exchanged views on the readiness of our enterprises for the introduction of product labeling systems in Russia,” the embassy added.
The ambassador also briefed participants on the upcoming schedule of visits by Russian regional leaders to Belarus and his own working trips to Russian regions aimed at filling bilateral contacts with concrete content. He urged officials responsible for cooperation with Russian regions to improve the quality of their work in implementing and monitoring the implementation of agreements reached.
