It was noted that the State Standardization Committee's role as one of the primary regulators in product quality control is highly significant. Alexander Burak reiterated that Gosstandart's functions include monitoring and overseeing compliance with safety requirements at all stages of product development.
"We register the primary production equipment used to produce alcoholic beverages, license products, produce alcoholic beverages, and organize compliance assessments for alcoholic and other products. And, naturally, the State Standardization Committee is responsible for the important function of ensuring product quality control—a supervisory control measure within the framework of our country's activities," explained the First Deputy Chairman of Gosstandart.
He noted that today, there are more than 50 organizations in the Republic of Belarus that produce alcoholic and other beverages. Around 56 types of primary production equipment are registered annually. "I would like to highlight the requirements of the technical regulations adopted in our country. It should be noted that all manufacturers of such specialized products comply with the technical regulations adopted in our country. The Republic of Belarus has a national system for confirming the conformity of such products," Alexander Burak shared.
Speaking about the quality indicators that accompany alcoholic beverages, he noted that there are currently approximately 40 interstate and state standards in force in the country. "Of these, 19 interstate standards are quite modern and relevant. To ensure our products are competitive in both domestic and international markets, our producers strive to develop their own specific requirements, which we establish and integrate into their technical specifications, without waiting for interstate standards to be developed. All this indicates that market control over alcoholic beverages in the republic has not only been established but is effectively maintained throughout all stages of the product life cycle," said the First Deputy Chairman of the Gosstandart.
