“In early April, Brest Oblast Governor Piotr Parkhomchik will pay a visit to Leningrad Oblast and the Republic of Tatarstan. A fairly representative business delegation will be accompanying him. We have preliminary agreements in place and will be discussing their implementation,” Brest Oblast Vice Governor Mikhail Batsenko said.
The visit of the Brest Oblast delegation to Russia is scheduled for 2-8 April. A series of meetings on bilateral cooperation issues are planned, along with discussions on prospects for mutually beneficial work in the industrial sector. The program includes a matchmaking session for business representatives and the signing of bilateral documents. Delegation members from Brest Oblast intend to visit leading enterprises and social sector institutions in Leningrad Oblast and Tatarstan to exchange experiences and establish cooperation.
Both of these Russian regions are active foreign trade partners of Brest Oblast. For instance, based on the results of 2025, trade with Leningrad Oblast grew by nearly 13%, with exports increasing by 16%. Trade with the Republic of Tatarstan also showed positive dynamics last year, with a growth rate of 123%. Exports increased by 7.3%.
“We cooperate with more than 80 regions of the Russian Federation. Most closely with those we are linked with. Brest Oblast is responsible for Belarus’ cooperation with Irkutsk, Oryol, and Penza Oblasts. This year, we are expecting visits from delegations from Oryol Oblast and Penza Oblast. A visit by a Brest Oblast delegation headed by Piotr Parkhomchik to Irkutsk Oblast is tentatively scheduled for September. We will discuss and update previously reached agreements, adding new points to increase mutual trade and cooperate more closely in the social sector (education, medicine, science),” the Brest Oblast vice governor said.
In addition, Brest Oblast is preparing for the international business contact forum First Region - Territory of Success, which will take place in Brest on 28-29 April. Delegations from near and far abroad are expected to participate.
