Lukashenko, Putin to meet ahead of Union State Supreme State Council

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin plan to meet ahead of the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State. The Belarusian head of state made the statement as he answered the questions of those invited to attend his annual Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on 31 March, BelTA has learned.

“We are going to meet with Vladimir Putin one day ahead of the Supreme State Council meeting,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

According to the Belarusian leader, Vladimir Putin called him a few days ago and suggested this algorithm. “This will be the same as he held negotiations with Xi Jinping. We will discuss some issues that are not subject to discussion at the Supreme State Council. We will also make the necessary decision concerning the Supreme State Council,” the head of state stressed.
