Representatives of the Belarusian Railways, as part of a delegation from the Transport and Communications Ministry led by First Deputy Minister Grigory Glazko, took part in a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers. The meeting discussed issues related to the organization of suburban rail service with the border administrative centers of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
“The meeting participants outlined areas of joint work that will enable the formation of seamless rail service. Currently, suburban transport services on the Smolensk-Orsha and Smolensk-Vitebsk routes are provided by transferring passengers to trains at the Osinovka and Zaolsha railway stations, respectively,” the press service said.
Joint work on the implementation of the decisions taken will continue within the framework of the agreements and arrangements previously reached between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
