Belarus and Russia have adopted a set of measures to improve transport communication between the countries, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi said during a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State on 12 March, BelTA has learned.

The meeting considered the situation on the Belarusian-Russian border. “We have specially invited the interested agencies and local authorities. Of course, the situation has improved compared to November-December 2023. There are more people, responsible officials who deal with these issues. Nevertheless, queues grow by holidays or weekends. Therefore, the Internal Affairs Ministry and the Transport and Communications Ministry adopted a set of measures on how to improve transport links between our countries,” Dmitry Krutoi said.

In his words, industrial issues became an important block discussed at the meeting. “These are cooperation and integration projects, import substitution in machine tool building, microelectronics, and aircraft building. The presidents are constantly pushing us forward in this regard, so that we engage in concrete projects, involve more enterprises in this work, constantly look for cooperation ties, revise investment budgets to increase funding and find additional resources. The agenda was rich today,” the ambassador said.
